The Cardo is reminiscent from the Roman era, and means Hearth (as in cardiology). This street was the center of the (old) city of Jerusalem during the Roman period and was full of public life.
Nowadays most of it is located at the Jewish quarter of the modern old city and is composed part by archaeological excavations and other by artists that expose and sell in beautiful galleries. Most of the art here is thematic with Judaic symbols – so it could be called Judaica Art.
